photo summary

PHOTO SUMMARY:

-These past two years in photo have been a really good experience, I already enjoyed taking pictures but now I think of it as a new hobby that I will pursue even in college. I learned a lot of things and took more pictures than I ever have before. I now know how to properly work a camera and how to adjust its settings. I am grateful they have this course in high school to actually have a class that is enjoyable. I recommend 10/10 plus I'm the favorite student.

ONE PAGE SUMMARY OF LINK

7 TIPS ON LAYERING IN STREET PHOTOGRAPHY:

  • A COMPOSITION IS GENERALLY DIVIDED INTO 3 PLANES
  • THE FOREGROUND,MIDDLE GROUND, AND BACKGROUND
  • THE FOREGROUND APPEARS THE CLOSEST TO THE VIEWER, THE BACKGROUND APPEARS THE FURTHEST, WHILE THE MIDDLE GROUND IS LOCATED BETWEEN THEM
  • YOU'LL BE ABLE TO SEE THESE DISTANCES WHILE MAKING THE PHOTO
  • WHILE YOU CAN HAVE MORE LAYERS THAN THIS, THESE 3 PRIMARY GROUNDS ARE THE MINIMUM YOU'LL WANT TO INCLUDE TO REALLY GET A FEELING OF LAYERS

YOUTUBE NOTES

YOUTUBE NOTES:
-focus on each picture and take it carefully

-aperture comes last because shutter speed and iso comes first

-balance each photo with the iso at 100

-change the smaller aperture to get more light or go higher to get less light

-get iso # to get a better picture

-go to full manual mode

-2 secs, 5 secs, 10 secs

-go take pictures of cars for the best outcome and get creative

-change settings and wait till dark to get the most visible long exposure

-For all ages events, all guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

-They offer a full bar in the theater and limited food menu
SHUTTER SPEED EFFECT NOTES
-Shutter speed is used to control exposure, but it is also used as a creative tool that freezes action or adds dramatic blur to moving subjects

-switch to shutter priority, you set the shutter speed and the camera sets the aperture, actual shutter speed is adjusted by a dial, but make sure to always check your cameras manual

-The basic principle behind using fast shutter speeds is moving, the shorter the shutter speed, you need to freeze the movement

- A shutter speed of 1/250 sec will freeze most slow-moving subjects, a speed o 1/1000 sec will freeze faster subjects such as a car

-theres more to getting successful action shots than just selecting a fast shutter speed and firing the shutter

HEAD SHOT NOTES

HEAD SHOT NOTES
-A dynamic head shot for models, actors, and performance professionals will be the difference between acquiring the gig or not

-nothing is more important than achieving sharp, crisp eyes in your shot

-capturing the eyes in a powerful way will establish a strong connection that will speak volumes

-angles will effect the outcome look and feel and know the different angles that flatter the person like with women make the eyes appear larger and for men emphasize strength and shoot upwards

-skin is a central feature so using diffused light to gently wrap around the skin bringing definition to the face

-a hair-light can be placed above or behind the subject to add depth to the shot, and pull the top of the head out of the background

COMPARE AND CONTRAST NOTES

COMPARE AND CONTRAST NOTES
  • sensor pixel density sets a limit on the final output resolution of images captured with that sensor

  • most digital sensors are arranged in rectangular grid pattern, making certain images suspectible to moire pattern artifacts

  • film is not affected my moire because of the random orientation of the silver salts in its emulsion, however the pattern of these silver salts may become visible upon enlargement creating the  patterns called "grain" in the final output
  • short noise, produced by spontaneous fluctuations in detected photo currents, degrades darker areas with electronic images with random variations of pixel colors and variation
  • traditional exposure metering and autofocus systems employ secondary sensors
